Commodore A K M Maruf Hassan, (S), NUP, BCGMS, psc was Commissioned on 01 July 1991 in Supply Branch of Bangladesh Navy. He has attended various types of professional courses. He did Junior Officers’ Course (JSC) at Bangladesh Naval Academy and Basic Supply Officer Course from BN School of Logistics and Management. He is a proud graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur. He has also obtained Masters in Defence Studies from the National University and Masters in Business Administration from Khulna University. During his long 32 years of illustrious career, he has served onboard all types of Ships of Bangladesh Navy as Supply Officer that includes Frigates, Corvettes, OPVs and Smaller Crafts. He has also held many important command, staff and instructional appointments in the Naval Headquarters as well as in the Administrative Areas. His important appointments include Commanding Officer of BN Central Naval Stores Depot, Commanding Officer School of Logistics and Management, Director at Bangladesh University of Professionals and Treasurer at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University. He has also Served in United Nations Mission in South Sudan and United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. He has been awarded with Bangladesh Navy Medal of Excellence and Bangladesh Coast Guard Medal Sheba for his outstanding contribution to the Service. He is happily married with Farzana Khalil and blessed with two daughters. He is keen Golfer. He has visited many Countries like USA, Australia, Turkey, Italy, Switzerland, Cyprus, Qatar, Sudan, Lebanon, Cambodia, Mongolia, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, India and Maldives. Presently, he is serving as Director Purchase (Navy) at DGDP.
